Adding Your Starting Pricing

Experts can display starting project pricing, starting retainer pricing, and hourly rates on their Storetasker profile. This helps clients understand your general pricing expectations before starting a conversation.

1. How Do I Add My Starting Prices?

To add or update your starting prices:

  1. Go to your Dashboard.

  2. Click your name in the bottom-left (desktop) or your profile icon in the top-right (mobile).

  3. Select ProfileSettings.

  4. Enter your:

    • Starting Project Price (e.g., $1,000)

    • Starting Retainer Price (e.g., $500/month)

    • Hourly Rate (e.g., $100/hr)

✅ These values appear directly on your public profile, below your bio information.
✅ You can update them at any time from your dashboard.

2. Where Do Clients See My Starting Prices?

  • Clients will see your starting project price, starting retainer price, and hourly rate directly on your profile page.

  • This visibility helps set clear expectations and reduces mismatches between budget and scope.

3. What Numbers Should I Enter?

It is important to set prices that are both:

  • Realistic: Numbers that reflect the actual scope of projects you take on.

  • Approachable: Prices that do not discourage or off-put prospective clients before you’ve had a chance to discuss their needs.

💡 Best Practice:

  • Use your most common project and retainer sizes as a baseline.

  • Avoid inflated numbers that could deter clients, even if your top-tier projects are much larger.

  • Consider entering a slightly flexible “starting at” rate that still aligns with your professional standards.

4. Can I Change My Prices Later?

Yes. You can edit your project, retainer, or hourly pricing at any time by returning to your Profile Settings. Updates will appear on your public profile immediately.

Key Takeaways

  • These prices are displayed publicly on your profile to help set expectations.
